I remember Jan as an artist and an organizer. He made a wonderful photo of my young family that I still enjoy. He also shot a beautiful film at Olana for one of my video projects. In both cases he wouldn't accept any payment. 

Jan was also an organizer of the Downtown Albany art scene and helped create "workspace" that resulted in lots of fun and innovative activities. 

He and Liliian made a great team.
