Marc Priebe

I knew Jan when I was a kid. Here is what he gifted me: he introduced me to The Beatles’ song Octopus Garden, which to this day, always reminds me of him. He convinced me there was a store that sold planes/helicopters for kids to fly and I held out hope for years afterward that he would bring me one. On Christmas he climbed up on the snowy roof and made noises like reindeer. I also credit Jan with giving me my first taste of beer, unbeknownst to him and his friend who were babysitting Shanan and me at the time.

In summary, Jan was a somewhat magical, somewhat mysterious, and mischievous presence in my early formative years who had a big impact on my imagination!
