Workspace show
This was a big show that Jan did at the Waffle Store. He took photos of everybody in the Workspace group holding a blank panel. The idea was that we could each do what we wanted on the panel. Nice idea but a lot of work for Jan. He had to photograph everyone, process, mount, and then get the pieces back to us so we could work on them. Phyllis Galembo scratched hers with her fingernails, Bob Durlak actually shot a hole in his with a gun? Anyway here are Cathy and Ed’s entries.

Tommy Holecek, Ed Atkeson, Jan Galligan in Cathy and Ed’s kitchen on Lark St Albany
Cathy had a restaurant on Lark St in Albany and Jan was a regular customer. I would make Cathy’s Waffle Store ads for the Metroland paper. Found this recently, not sure, drawing might have been done by Jan.
Our art group, Workspace Loft Incorporated, had a series of shows where members were called upon to defend their work. My show had a six-foot cube of concrete and a manifesto. Long story short, one of the illustrations with the manifesto was this drawing showing Jan and Shanan standing with the work.
